Get ready to be bamboozled at De Piepleshow 2, the brand-new, free, lightning-fast, and shameless revue performance full of songs, dress-ups, and unexpected twists. Justin van der Veen, Sean Hauser, ensemble members Edo Stolk, Martijn Huisman, Nora Korfker, and various guest performers explore how the ‘little person’ tries to find their way in a complex world. Between the market stalls and the herons at the Dappermarkt and other markets, the Markttheater creates a place where dialogue arises, even while opinions may clash. See that we are worthy beings with quirks and troubles, even in a harsh world. De Piepleshow 2 is also a breeding ground for local talent. It is ‘the people’s show,’ so we collaborate with various people from Amsterdam East, with whom we will share the stage. Exactly who is participating on which day is still a surprise.

“The level of the performance doesn’t justify a detour or canceling appointments, but if you’re walking across the market anyway and you’re lured inside by the Spanish Lorelei, you won’t be bored for half an hour. And with the beautifully sung polyphonic ‘Tomorrow’ from the musical Annie, you’ll walk on cheerfully to the cheese and the summer trousers.” Read more
