Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis is a unique adaptation of Kafka’s classic novella in the form of a virtual opera about current themes in today’s digital age, such as loss of identity, alienation, and social pressure from family and society. This new music theater production by the Diamantfabriek and Maat Saxophone Quartet is created by three young, talented makers: Portuguese-Dutch composer Nuno Lobo, video artist Pedro Lobo, and theater maker Sean Hauser. The four musicians of the Maat Saxophone Quartet tell the story of protagonist Gregor, who undergoes a surreal transformation with a major impact on his daily life and family relationships. Metamorphosis, A Virtual Opera was a co-production of the Diamantfabriek, a production house for contemporary music theater, and Maat Saxophone Quartet
